Taylor to Lure Other Top Recruits to Blacksburg?

Hampton High School quarterback Tyrod Taylor became Virginia Tech’s 12th verbal commitment on Friday evening when he chose the Hokies over his other finalist, the Florida Gators. We’ve all seen Taylor’s name linked to wide receiver prospects Jay Smith, Mark Barnes, and even Arrelious Benn. But what running back is Taylor trying to lure to Blacksburg? Find out inside.

Taylor’s announcement came live on WAVY-TV 10 from Crabber’s Restaurant and Sports Lounge in Hampton. When sports director Bruce Rader asked Taylor the big question, Taylor responded like so many other past recruits by saying, “The University of Virginia Tech.”

When Taylor made his announcement, he pulled a Virginia Tech hat out of a bag as the room erupted in cheers from his family, friends, as well as some Hokie fans who made the trip.

Taylor later fielded questions from reporters about the recruiting process, as well as his future plans at Virginia Tech. He proved to be a man of few words, but Virginia Tech fans have a reason to be very excited about some of his comments.
