Stone Bridge (Ashburn, VA) offensive lineman Andrew Nuss still plans to make his collegiate decision this summer. The unofficial visits he has made this spring – he has visited each school that has officially offered – certainly will help him in accomplishing this goal. Right now, four schools stand out among the seven he has visited.
“I’d say it’s a group of four,” Nuss replied when asked if any schools had jumped out as early favorites. He remains open to others schools as well. “There is Virginia Tech, Georgia, N.C. State and UVa.”
Nuss’ most recent visit was on Saturday, when he visited Virginia Tech for the first time. It was for Tech’s spring game, and the experience seemed to have gone pretty well.
“I had a lot of fun,” Nuss said. “I got there on Saturday and tourned the grounds a little bit. I looked at the weight room and some of the other facilities. It was a good experience.”
The 6-6, 285-pound Nuss spent a lot of time speaking with Tech primary recruiter Torrian Gray, but also spoke with offensive line coach Curt Newsome and head coach Frank Beamer. He also enjoyed seeing his former Stone Bridge teammate Ed Wang play for the Hokies.
“I came into the visit open-minded and I was very impressed,” Nuss said. “I saw how much fun Ed and his teammates were having there.”
Nuss also made trips to Duke, Georgia and N.C. State this past week. He headed to UVa on Saturday the 8th for a spring practice, an experience he called “informational.” He enjoyed talking to the UVa coaches – particularly coach Borbely – for an extended period of time.
All four schools listed above have officially offered the talented lineman. Other official offers include Duke, Maryland and West Virginia, and Nuss has visited those three schools as well.
