There will be many new faces in Virginia Tech’s offensive backfield this
season. Tech will be breaking in new starters at quarterback and tailback, and
the coaches must also settle on a two-deep for both positions. At quarterback,
the top two players are fairly obvious, but things aren’t so clear at
tailback.

There is a lot of potential shakeout on the depth chart. Tech is even trying two
cornerbacks, Victor Harris and Jahre Cheeseman, at tailback. The Hokies are set
at fullback, with their top two players returning, as well as a talented
r-freshman. At quarterback, the job could be determined this spring, or it could
drag into the fall.
