A report that surfaced earlier today indicating that 6-4, 250-pound defensive end Josh Minton had committed to the University of Kentucky is not true, as Minton remains uncommitted and still plans on taking two official visits before making his final decision.
“The writer contacted me and it was just a mistake,” Pulaski Southwestern (Somerset, KY) head coach Dale Anderson said. “Josh has got two visits he’s going to take and he’s cancelled everything else.”
Minton will head to Virginia Tech this weekend and to the University of Kentucky next weekend. Both will be official visits.
“I think he’ll make a decision immediately [after the Kentucky trip],” Anderson said. “I talked to Coach Wiles this morning and I was telling him that these visits will probably be the most important days of Josh’s life. It’s important that he feels comfortable wherever he goes to school. I think it’s more important to Virginia Tech, because Josh already knows the players up at Kentucky.”
Anderson did not name a favorite between the two programs. Stay tuned as we follow up with Josh following this weekend’s key visit to Virginia Tech.
