Holy Spirit (Absecon, N.J.) athlete Zach Luckett has only one more official visit scheduled before he plans to make a decision. His decision will come down to two schools and he is looking forward to making that decision soon.
“We go [on an official visit] to Boston College in early December and I’m going to make a decision after that,” said Luckett, who made an official visit to Virginia Tech on September 16th. “I’m just going to see what Boston College has to offer and then I’ll be ready.”
Asked if either Boston College or Virginia Tech was the favorite right now, Luckett said “Virginia Tech has the edge right now.”
Virginia Tech, led by primary recruiter Kevin Rogers, has done a good job keeping in consistent contact with the 6-3, 215-pound star. Luckett talked about why Coach Rogers has done a good job on the recruiting trail.
“Coach Rogers calls once a week,” Luckett said. “He makes you feel comfortable. Sometimes when you’re around a college coach, you don’t feel comfortable. Coach Rogers doesn’t make you feel that way.”
Luckett played tailback for Holy Spirit, which is 7-2 and unfortunately fell in the first round of the playoffs last week. Luckett estimates that he has rushed about 100 times for 700 yards, a solid season considering he missed most of the playoff game and suffered a sprained ankle at the beginning of the year.
Luckett says he is being recruited by Boston College and Virginia Tech as a wide receiver.
