Graham Set to Visit VT

A relatively new name to the Hokies target list is 6-7, 250-pound St. Christopher’s (Richmond, VA) standout Richard Graham. Graham, who played tight end in high school, is being recruited as an offensive tackle and is very likely to get an official offer when he makes his official visit to Blacksburg this weekend.

“Virginia Tech came to my school about a month or two ago,” Graham said. “They sat me down and said that they liked me a lot. Then Coach Cav called about two weeks ago and said he was going to show up at one of my basketball games. I talked to Coach Cav after he saw me play basketball and he said they are pretty much going to offer me a scholarship. He said the offensive line coach has given the recommendation to Coach Beamer to offer me, but Coach Beamer wants to meet me face to face before he offers me formally.”

In addition to Virginia Tech, Graham has received heavy interest from Princeton and Harvard. Both Ivy league schools have indicated that he would be accepted if he were to commit. Vanderbilt is also making some last-minute inquiries and Division I-AA JMU and Furman have offered officially.

While Virginia Tech is certainly high on Graham’s list, he says he will likely not commit on this weekend’s trip.
