Only two schools remain for talented Rock Hill (Northwestern, SC) cornerback Jamie Robinson. Recently, the 6-1, 185-pound prospect eliminated the in-state Clemson Tigers and will decide between Florida State and Virginia Tech.
“Yeah, I did eliminate Clemson,” Robinson said. “They were really only there because I hadn’t decided if I wanted to go out of state. I just fit in more and was more comfortable around the Virginia Tech and Florida State coaches. I wanted to eliminate Clemson to help me with my decision.”
Robinson made an official visit to Florida State on January 7th and will take his official visit to Virginia Tech this weekend. He says “there’s a chance I might make a decision on Sunday night or Monday, but it will probably be on Signing Day.”
Recently, Florida State made an in-home visit with Robinson. Joining head coach Bobby Bowden were 4 assistant coaches.
“It went real well,” Robinson said. “It was good to have coach Bowden in the house to talk to my parents. They also went over how I would fit into their defense.”
Robinson, who expects to have Coach Frank Beamer and Coach Danny Pearman in-home this week, says that both schools are even right now.
“I’m going to wait until my visit this weekend before I think about that,” Robinson replied when asked if either team had a lead. “I hope my decision is clear after that.”
Robinson expects a tough decision – a lot tougher than he originally expected it to be.
“There’s not really any big differences between Florida State and Virginia Tech, and that’s why it’s such a tough decision,” Robinson said.
Jamie Robinson is one of the top cornerback prospects in the country. He was recently rated the #66 overall prospect in the country by Rivals.com.
