Conway (SC) star defensive line prospect Hivera Green reportedly had an excellent official visit to Clemson last weekend. He confirmed that the visit went well.
“It went good,” Green said of his Clemson visit. “Everything was great. Nothing really surprised me. Everything was what I expected. I know they received a lot of commitments on the weekend.”
Though he enjoyed the official visit, Green says he plans to make his final official visit – to Virginia Tech on January 28th – before announcing a final decision.
“Yes, sir, I’m thinking that I will,” Green replied when asked if he planned on making his official visit to Virginia Tech. He has already taken an official visit to South Carolina as well.
“I’m not thinking about committing anywhere right now. As of now, I want to keep an open mind while I take my official visits.”
Virginia Tech was in Conway to meet with Green yesterday.
“Coach Beamer, Coach Wiles and cornerbacks coach were in [yesterday],” Green said. “It went good. They explained everything and what they wanted to happen if I went there. They think I could play early.”
Green visited Virginia Tech last fall on an unofficial visit for the West Virginia game. He explained what he will be looking for this time around.
“I want to get the feel of the place academically and talk to the players to see if they really like it,” Green said.
Green says the #1 factor in his final decision will be “trust. I want to feel like I can trust what the coaches are really saying.”
Coach Tommy Bowden is scheduled in-home with Green this evening. There were rumors surrounding a possible Green commitment to Clemson following the visit, so if nothing happens this evening than it appears that Green will very likely make his visit to Blacksburg.
