Ashley High School (Wilmington, NC) 6-4, 180-pound wide receiver prospect Geron James appears to have narrowed his list to 3 schools. Right now, he has set official visits to 2 of the 3 and plans on setting a date with the third as soon as possible.
“I’m going to N.C. State on December 10th and I’m going to UNC on December 17th,” James said. “I had planned on going to Virginia Tech on January 22nd, but I found out that that is the weekend of the SAT. I don’t know what I’m going to do now. I’ll talk to Coach Wiles and figure something out. I definitely am going to try to make it to Virginia Tech.
“Right now, these are really the only 3 schools I’m considering for official visits.”
James did visit Virginia Tech last weekend for the UVa football game.
“I went up there on an unofficial just to go up and watch the game,” James said. “The campus was amazing. The game atmosphere was great. All of the recruits got to do the walk – that was an awesome rush. It was just great. Virginia Tech impressed me a lot. It’s a great school. I really like them but I’m still not leaning to any one school.”
James liked Virginia Tech’s offense as well.
“I like how good their running game is,” James said. “I know they didn’t pass a lot, but I like that because it forces the defense to stay on their toes. Defenses have to watch the run and the pass. With a good running game the wide receivers don’t get double teamed or anything like that, and I like that style of football.”
