Freedom (Morganton, NC) cornerback prospect Jordan Hemby had visited Virginia Tech earlier this year for a summer camp, but had never been to a game. All of that changed this past weekend, when he was in attendance for the West Virginia game.
“I enjoyed the trip and the atmosphere with the fans,” Hemby said. “I liked how they treated the players. Their fans really get into the game. It was an exciting game.”
Hemby has developed a good relationship Lorenzo Ward throughout this recruiting process. He was able to talk to Coach Ward on the visit.
“I saw Coach Ward in pre-game warm-ups and I talked to him some after the game,” Hemby said. “I talked to Coach Pearman also. Coach Ward said that I know how much he wants to coach me. They were also saying they were looking forward to me coming down for my official visit that I set.”
Up next for Hemby will be his first official visit, which will take place next weekend.
“I’ve already set an official visit to Virginia Tech,” Hemby said. “It’s on October 16th for the Florida A&M game.”
In addition to Virginia Tech, Hemby has received scholarship offers from Clemson, N.C. State and UNC. He plans on seeing all four of these schools on official visits before making a decision.
“I’ll probably take my official visits first,” Hemby said when asked when he would make a decision. “Everyone’s all even right now. I got to see [Virginia Tech], but I didn’t get a chance to interact with the players.”
Hemby has not yet set any other visits.
