Antonio Wardlow hoped to narrow his list of schools down by the beginning of his senior season. The Parkland High School (Winston-Salem, NC) standout safety has not yet been able to do what he had hoped, as his senior season has taken more of his focus.
“Not really,” Wardlow said when asked if he had narrowed his list recently. “I’m not thinking too much about recruiting. I am looking forward to talking to coaches.”
Wardlow, who hopes to make at least a few official visits, names 2 schools he would like to officially visit.
“South Carolina is one,” Wardlow said. “I haven’t had a chance to get to know South Carolina like I have some other schools. Tennessee is another. I don’t know any others right now.”
This summer, Wardlow made trips to UNC, N.C. State, Wake Forest and Virginia Tech for summer camps. These schools are very much under consideration as well.
“Some other schools I’m considering are UNC, N.C. State, Wake Forest…I can’t really think of all of them right now,” Wardlow said.
As for Virginia Tech, Wardlow is interested in taking in a few games at Lane Stadium.
“I’ll probably take some unofficial visits there,” Wardlow said of Virginia Tech. “I haven’t had the chance to look at the schedule yet, but I want to go there for a game. I also want to go to Tennessee and N.C. State for games.”
Parkland has begun the 2004 season with 2 straight losses. Wardlow has scored 1 touchdown receiving and says he is playing well on the defensive side of the ball. Most schools are recruiting him as a safety.
Antonio is unsure as to when he will set up his official visits, or when he will narrow his list of 14 scholarship offers.
Is UVa still in it?
When asked if UVa remained in the race, Wardlow replied that “they are still in the mix.”
The Cavaliers don’t seem to be as high as the aforementioned programs at this point.
