UVa has received a verbal commitment from one of the state’s top ten prospects in Gar-Field High School (Woodbridge, VA) defensive end/outside linebacker prospect Clint Sintim . The 6-3, 240 pound Sintim chose Virginia over Virginia Tech.
“I have committed to Virginia,” Sintim said. He actually committed on Wednesday before releasing the information today. “I really like the coaches there a lot. They still showed me a lot of interest even after I broke my leg, which really showed me how much they cared and made my decision easier. I’ve felt for a long time like I knew where I would be going, so I just wanted to make sure.”
Sintim is relieved to have the recruiting process completed, and is looking forward to getting to Charlottesville next year. He was recruited by UVa to play outside linebacker in the 3-4 scheme.
“It’s been a long, long process and I’m just happy to have my decision,” Sintim said. “I just really felt like Virginia was the place for me. They have a chance to really do something special in the next few years…something real big. I’m looking forward to being apart of that.”
Sintim becomes Virginia’s 17th verbal commitment for the 2004 recruiting class. He is rated the number nine prospect in the state of Virginia, and earned second-team All-Metro honors by the Washington Post. In addition, Clint is a three-star prospect by both Rivals.com and Insiders.com.
