Kecoughtan (Hampton, VA) linebacker Jerod Mayo has narrowed his list of schools from four to three. The school that has been eliminated from contention is NC State, a decision Mayo says was very tough.
“I’m going to cut NC State,” Mayo said. “It was a very tough decision. They had the best facilities out of anyone that I’ve seen and I really like their coaches. I just thought that the scheme doesn’t really fit me.”
Mayo will make a decision among Virginia Tech, Virginia, and Tennessee, and he expects to have it around 3:00 pm on Monday, February 2nd. He had thought about having a press conference earlier in the recruiting process, however has decided against it.
“Monday is when I’ll have my decision,” Mayo said. “I don’t really feel like having a press conference after going through the whole process, so I’m going to stay low-key and just tell the coaches.”
Currently, Mayo indicated that all three schools have an equal chance.
“They are all even right now,” Mayo said. “I’m going to think about my decision over the weekend, and it’s going to be tough.”
