Hermitage (Richmond, VA) linebacker prospect Andrew Bowman has narrowed his list down to three schools…Tennessee, Virginia, and Virginia Tech. He has cancelled his previously scheduled official visit to UNC, which was to take place this weekend.
“My final three are UVA, Virginia Tech, and Tennessee,” Bowman said. “They are pretty much all even. No one really has an edge right now. I just need to think about it and see where I want to go.”
One of the primary factors for Bowman will be which system he feels he can make the most plays in. This is one of the top factors he hopes to figure out before he announces his decision.
“I want to go to whichever scheme allows me to make the most hits,” Bowman said. UVA likes him as an inside linebacker while Tennessee and Virginia Tech are recruiting him for outside linebacker positions. “Right now, I think I’d be able to find a way to make plays at any of the schools. I just need to think about it some more.”
When it comes time to announce his decision, Bowman indicated he may have a press conference at his school…at least the idea has been suggested by one of his coaches. His parents will help him make the decision, however he will do a lot of the deciding himself.
“I’ll probably sit with my family and talk about it,” Bowman said. “I might just tell them which school I like the best and then go from there. It will be my decision…I’ll just go where it feels right.”
Bowman has not scheduled any in-home visits at this time. He may have a decision within the next few weeks…he is confident that he will not wait until Signing Day to announce his decision.
Right now, it’s really tough to call where Andrew will end up. I do think he will end up staying in-state in the end even though Tennessee remains under consideration.
