Defensive end/outside linebacker prospect Dan Davis made an official visit to the University of Connecticut this weekend. It was his first official visit, and it was a good one despite his arrival being delayed by seven-plus hours.
“The University of Connecticut is usually only a three-hour drive from my house, but because of the weather it took us ten hours,” Davis said. “I got there at 11:00 on Friday night, but the visit was still fun. Before his first official visit, Davis had named Virginia as his leader. He had been to Charlottesville unofficially on several occasions. It appears the Cavs are still there, however Davis is open to the schools he is visiting.
“Virginia is still there, but I haven’t really seen anywhere else,” Davis said. “I’m open to considering other schools.”

“I’m going to Rutgers this weekend,” Davis said. “I was supposed to go to Nebraska after that, but I don’t know now. If I don’t go to Nebraska, I’ll probably go to Iowa. They want me to come down, and they have an offer coming for me. I was talking with Michigan State about January 16th, but that is not final. I’m setting up a date with Virginia but nothing’s final.”
Virginia recruiting coach Al Golden visited Dan last Wednesday, and the two talked about setting up an in-home visit for the first...
