Westlake (Waldorf, MD) athlete Jared Fagan made his first-ever visit to Virginia Tech last weekend. The visit was an unofficial, however he did have a chance to view the campus and take in the 31-7 victory over the Miami Hurricanes.

“It was great…it was a lot of fun,” said Fagan. “We got there around 4:00 pm or so on Saturday, so I had a chance to walk around the campus, check out some dorms and see some classrooms. It’s a nice campus. It doesn’t seem like there is too much going on, which I like. I want to go to a school with a relaxed atmosphere.”

Fagan says the game was “great…the fan support is awesome.” He was especially impressed with the relationship between the players and coaches, which he witnessed first-hand in the locker room following the game.

“I had a chance to meet the coaches face to face for the first time, which was nice,” said Fagan, who spoke with main recruiter Billy Hite and head coach Frank Beamer. “After the game was over, I got to go in the locker room. You can tell that the players and the coaches work really well together. The players have a lot of faith in their coaches.”
