St. Benedict’s Prep (Newark, New Jersey) wing forward Alex Galindo is perhaps one of the more well-rounded rising senior players. He is a fundamentally sound player who does a lot of things really well.
He burst onto the 2003 camp scene with an MVP performance at the Southern Invitation, and appeared to keep his success going at the Adidas ABCD camp.
Though he did not make the all-star team, he continued his savvy play throughout the week. At 6-7, 195 pounds, Galindo can knock down any shot. He possesses a nice stroke from beyond the arc and has good passing skills.
According to Galindo, he has received six scholarship offers.
“Virginia, NC State, Seton Hall, Rutgers, Villanova, and UTEP have offered,” said Galindo. “Right now I don’t have any favorites. I want to sign early. I’ve visited Rutgers and Villanova. I’ll probably visit Virginia.”
On December 30, 2002, Galindo led St. Benedict’s to a Slam Dunk to the Beach title. He earned MVP honors for his performance. He is rated a four-star player by both TheInsiders.com and Rivals.com. TheInsiders.com has him rated the #9 wing forward in the country.
