Phil Trautwein , the mammoth 6-7, 300 pound offensive line prospect from Eastern Regional High School (Voorhees, NJ), has received around 20 scholarship offers through this summer. He hopes to take all five allotted official visits and will decide after making those visits.
One visit has already been scheduled, and the lucky school is the University of Iowa. Virginia Tech and Boston College are in good shape to receive two of the other four officials.
“I have set an official visit for Iowa on December 12,” said Trautwein. “I’m not 100% sure about the others, maybe Virginia Tech and Boston College. I’m just not sure yet. I want to unofficially visit Virginia Tech first to see how much I like it. I’ve never been to the campus before.”

Virginia Tech is also supposed to have a really good team this year. I didn’t realize how good they have been. They also have academics. They have a good technical program…I really want to major in Mathematics, or at least something to do with numbers.
“Boston College was number two on my list before the ACC expansion. They have gone down to fifth. There is no one in the Big East anymore. It really hurt them.”
One school who could enter the picture quickly is the University of Florida. Trautwein attended the Gators’ spring game earlier this year, and is hoping for an offer.
“Florida did not call during the May...
