Marque Hall (Forest Hills HS; Marshville, NC) has plenty of offers to choose from before Signing Day in February. Proximity to home may be one factor that will help Hall decide among his many offers.
“I would say I’m open right now,” said Hall. “I like UNC and NC State because my family likes them and they are close to home. But I don’t want to narrow my list right now.”
Hall did mention schools he would like to visit before February, which is when he plans on making his decision. He hopes to visit some of these schools officially and some unofficially.
“Schools I will probably visit are UNC, NC State, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, South Carolina, and Clemson,” said Hall, who attended camp at UNC. “I hope I get around to visiting all of them before February.”
One of the top overall prospects in the state of North Carolina, the 6-5 Hall has trimmed down this summer to prepare for his senior season. He finished last season around 330 pounds, and now stands at 295 pounds.
“I’ve been doing a whole lot of running and a lot less eating,” said Hall with a laugh. “I run at least a mile six days a week. 295 pounds was my target weight before next season, so I’m happy with that. I was 300 as a freshman, and 330 as a junior. I feel a lot quicker on my feet now.”
Most schools want Hall to play defensive tackle on the next level. Two programs are recruiting him primarily for offense.
“Most schools like me on defense,” said Hall. “Virginia and NC State like me for offense though.”
