Coach Gary Bishop: “We started him as a corner and safety as a sophomore, but then we saw his value to us as a receiver. We didn’t want him to be out there too much, so we kept him off the defense unless somebody was just throwing the ball up. He had a great year last year. We had a great season, too. We went 10-2 and lost in the second round of the playoffs in double overtime. We had a lot of teams beat at halftime pretty bad, so we didn’t throw the ball in the second half. His numbers were really good for the amount of time he played. He had 31 receptions for 802 yards and 13 touchdowns.”
