Notes: Derek Smith was a 3-year lettermand and 2-year starter at offensive tackle for the Hokies. A Football News 3rd Team All-American in 1998. He was drafted in the 5th round of the 1999 NFL Draft by the Redskins.

Smith was the #19 player in the Mid Atlantic by Super Prep. He chose the Hokies over Maryland, West Virginia and Penn State.
