Five Virginia Tech Wrestlers Advance to NCAA Quarterfinals

Five Virginia Tech wrestlers advanced to the quarterfinals of the NCAA Championships, winning both their first- and second-round matches in St. Louis.

  • Senior Joey Dance, seeded second in the 125 weight class
  • Redshirt senior Ty Walz, seeded third in the heavyweight class
  • Redshirt sophomore Solomon Chishko, 6th at 149 pounds
  • Redshirt junior Zach Epperly, 4th seed at 174 pounds
  • Redshirt junior Jared Haught, 4th seed at 197 pounds

After the first day’s competition, the Hokies are in 8th place with 18 points.  The top 5 teams are:
