Khadim Sy’s Double-Double Helps Oak Hill Advance

Virginia Tech-bound senior Khadim Sy scored 13 points on 6-of-8 shooting and pulled down 10 boards as Oak Hill Academy (Mouth of Wilson, VA) defeated Wasatch Academy (UT) in the quarterfinals of the Dick’s High School Nationals yesterday afternoon. The Warriors will now face Miller Grove of Georgia in the semifinals tonight at 5 p.m. EST. The game will be televised by ESPN2.

Sy, a 6’9″ center, scored 11 of his 13 points in the first half of yesterday’s victory. Down 18-10 after the first quarter, Oak Hill outscored Wasatch 28-10 in the second and ultimately cruised to an 81-64 win. Junior combo guard Lindell Wigginton, a Virginia Tech target, led the Warriors with 17 points while also dishing out six assists.

No. 6 seed Miller Grove defeated no. 3 seed Findlay Prep (NV) yesterday. Oak Hill is the no. 2 seed in this tournament.
