The scholarship offer list now sits at 22. But while Freedom (Va.) 2025 three-star athlete Jeffrey Overton is excited for the new schools involved, he insists his core principles of what he looks for in his next home haven’t changed.

“I don’t look at anything differently,” Overton said. “I’m not going to change up just because a school offered me. It’s still the same expectations. Definitely there are coaches who will tell you things and they don’t mean it, that’s what I learned. You’re really, basically trying to see through to the real.”

Overton, Rivals.com’s No. 22 player in Virginia for 2025, is giving each of those 22 schools a look. He’s also getting to know a few specifically as he pushes forward in his recruitment. That includes a trio of recent unofficial visits, which added more perspective.
