With the 2023 season in the rearview mirror, it’s time for another Inside the Numbers article. Bhayshal Tuten went for over 100 yards to close the season, and we got a good question from a subscriber about his advanced stats. We’ll address that and also talk about Dorian Strong’s final numbers.

Bhayshul Tuten And Forced Missed Tackles

Seventeen ACC running backs had 100+ carries this season, and Bhayshul Tuten is arguably the best in the league at forcing missed tackles. He forced 61 missed tackles in the running game this season, and that is second only to UNC’s Omarion Hampton, who had 63.

However, there’s a catch. Hampton had 234 carries, while Tuten only had 157. Only three backs in the league forced more than 43 missed tackles and two of them had over 200 carries. Tuten is the only one who had under 200.

Five ACC running backs forced 40 or more missed tackles this season. In terms of carries per forced missed tackle, Tuten is well ahead of the other four.
