Practice Report: Hokies Offense Looking To Build Off Pitt, War Chant Weariness And More

If you’re pinpointing a moment Virginia Tech felt like its offense felt like it was in better shape, go back to the start of last week when the Hokies began game-planning for Pitt. 

That’s when Brent Pry saw it.

“I think we did a good job at the onset of the week deciding, ‘OK, this is who we can be against this group,’” the Hokies head coach said. “And that was the challenge this week, and it’s more challenging: What do we have a chance to do well against this crowd with who we are?”

While Tech (2-3, 1-0 ACC) has a much taller task putting together a viable game plan this week against No. 5 Florida State (4-0, 2-0), it’s doing it after finding some success offensively in a 38-21 win against Pitt, a game in which the Hokies put up 427 yards, highlighted by quarterback Kyron Drones’ five touchdowns.
