To date, Virginia Tech’s top-ranked ACC passing defense hasn’t been challenged all too much, facing offenses limited in the air. That’ll change Saturday at Florida State in a big way.
The No. 5 Seminoles possess one of the best aerial attacks in the nation, a group led by quarterback Jordan Travis and wideout Keon Coleman that’ll put Tech’s secondary to the test.
“I think it’s a tremendous challenge,” Hokies coach Brent Pry said. “I think this group of wideouts is arguably one of the best in the league, if not in the country. And they’ve got a quarterback that can deliver the ball. He’s patient. He makes great decisions. Good reads. Can extend plays.”
FSU is averaging 279.5 yards per game in the air, which ranks 33rd, but it’s been efficient too, with Travis throwing 10 touchdowns to one interception and boasting a 158.14 rating that’s fourth in the ACC and 33rd nationally.
