Defensive End Keyshawn Burgos Among Starters In Virginia Tech’s Week 1 Depth Chart Reveal

Brent Pry cleared up the biggest of Virginia Tech’s lineup questions last week when he announced Grant Wells as the starting quarterback, listed the top options at receiver and laid out a starting five on the offensive line.

The Hokies answered most other questions about their starting lineup with Tuesday’s depth chart reveal ahead of their Old Dominion opener Saturday in Lane Stadium.

The biggest revelation was sophomore Keyshawn Burgos grabbing a starting defensive end spot along with Florida transfer Antwaun Powell-Ryland. The 6-foot-5, 245-pound Burgos got a taste of action last year on special teams, enough to burn his redshirt, despite only playing seven defensive snaps (he had three tackles in 11 games). He’s shown high upside and play-making ability in practice, however.
