There are usually a lot of questions this time of year as to what Virginia Tech’s depth chart will look like, but Brent Pry took a lot of the guesswork away last week by just naming the top groups at certain positions.
I’ll project anyway, trying to get a good handle on who might be next at all the positions based on what we’ve seen and heard throughout August practice. For each player, I’ll list career snaps and his overall grade in 2022 according to Pro Football Focus.
Quarterback
Starter: Grant Wells (Sr., 2,212 snaps, 66.0 grade)
Backup: Kyron Drones (So., 69 snaps, 71.5 grade)
