A little over a week out from the season, most coaches will give the standard lines about being eager to kick things off and wanting to hit somebody else for a change.
Virginia Tech offensive line coach Ron Crook took a different tack with the media after Thursday’s practice.
“Not ready yet. Thank god we’ve still got another week,” Crook said with a chuckle, later adding: “We’ll get them there.”
Give him points for honesty.
