Early in the evening on June 17, Westside (SC) 2024 wide receiver Jimmar Boston was spent. His seven-on-seven team had just lost in the championship game of a tournament hosted by Virginia Tech. By Boston’s count, he played in 13 games that day.

Still, after he’d broken the huddle with his teammates, Hokies coach Brent Pry was waiting to speak with him. After a brief conversation, Pry had given him a scholarship offer.

Boston now sits at 15 offers total, a list that also includes Western Kentucky, Old Dominion, Marshall and Middle Tennessee. But with the Hokies as his lone Power fFive offer, Boston said he’s in wait and see mode after a camp/seven-on seven tour this month that also included Clemson, Florida State and Wake Forest. Still, Virginia Tech’s offer has already made an impression, from the moment Pry stopped to give him the offer.
