Next weekend, Flint Hill (Va.) three-star cornerback Joshua Clarke will compete for a championship in a different sport. He’ll compete in the VHSL state indoor track and field championships in both the 55m and 4×200 relay team.

Though track isn’t his likely future as a college athlete, Clarke said it’s absolutely shaped him into the player he is. It’s part of what’s made him an increasingly attractive recruit.

“It’s my first year running track, so it’s brand new,” Clarke said. “It was cool just to feel that feeling. Throughout the season, I’ve just been improving my time. My coach, Ricky Irvin, knows what he’s talking about and hopefully I can show it this fall, just working on my technique and stuff like that.”
