Caleb Williams Set For Junior Days

Caleb Williams
Defensive End, Class of 2025
Matoaca, Chesterfield, VA
6-5, 240

During Matoaca’s (Va.) Class 4 first-round playoff loss to Varina (Va.) on Nov. 10, class of 2025 defensive end Caleb Williams felt a pop in his knee. He’d dislocated his kneecap, but at some point, maybe even heading back to the sideline, it popped back into place. Williams, though, is still recovering from the injury.

Williams had planned to play basketball this winter, but because of his knee injury, he’s yet to see the floor. The hope is that Williams can finish with his rehab to return in time for the VHSL playoffs next month.

“The next day (after the game), when I went to the doctor, he was like, ‘how are you still walking?” Williams said. “He said, ‘Your muscles around that knee are strong, but they’re going to get weak, because the knee has to heal.’ He told me to rest for a few weeks, then start doing therapy. After that, I’ll be good to go.”
