When the current NCAA recruiting dead period ends Jan. 13, Lord Botetourt (Va.) offensive tackle DJ Toliver hopes to have a better feel for his recruitment, and at least an idea where he plans to visit for junior days. Right now, Rivals.com’s No. 12 player in Virginia for 2024 has nine scholarship offers: Virginia Tech, Virginia, Penn State, North Carolina, Duke, Louisville, Maryland, Liberty and James Madison.

Over the holiday break, Toliver said he’s reassessing his options. He remains open with his recruitment and has not named any favorites. But Toliver conceded that two programs that have been “slightly different” are Virginia Tech and Duke.
