On July 2, Life Christian Academy (Va.) cornerback Antonio Cotman gave his commitment to play football at Boston College. And while he’d remained solid with that decision, it changed a bit just a few weeks ago.

Before that choice, Virginia Tech had been a finalist for Cotman. Though the communication had stopped, Cotman said he found out the Hokies still wanted him. So on the last weekend before the early National Signing Day, he made an official visit to Blacksburg. He left that visit with a new direction, as he flipped his commitment to Virginia Tech.

For Cotman, there were a few reasons for his change of heart. It wasn’t because of anything the Eagles did or didn’t do, but the Hokies offered the chance to be closer to home, closer to family.
