Virginia Tech Football Closes Strong On Early Signing Day

Another Signing Day is in the books for Virginia Tech. Fortunately, there was very little drama. All of the players who previously committed to the Hokies stuck by their commitment and signed on the dotted line, and Tech even added a last-minute safety in Mose Phillips from Tennessee.

The coaching staff also announced their transfer portal signees. We already knew about quarterback Kyron Drones and wide receiver Ali Jennings. On Wednesday, we found out about defensive end Darian Varner and wide receiver Da’Quan Felton.

This article is going to cover Virginia Tech’s high school class. We’ll touch on the portal class later because it’s not done yet. The Hokies have until the close of the transfer window on January 18 to add players, and I would bet that a few more will come through the door between now and then.

There are a few topics that I want to touch on in this story. Then I’ll get into a more detailed player look in separate offensive and defensive articles next week. I plan to do my own rankings again with my unique half-star system, but that will come after the second Signing Day in February just in case the Hokies add any high schoolers to their class between now and then.
