Chris Coleman: I’ll talk about high school recruits today and give you an update on transfer portal offers next week. Wide receiver seems to be the primary point of emphasis, specifically outside receiver. Virginia Tech has also offered an in-state running back that will be visiting Blacksburg, and I think there’s a chance of landing him.

Wide receiver Ayden Greene of Tennessee was an original target for the Hokies but committed to Cincinnati. However, with the departure of head coach Luke Fickell to Wisconsin, Greene has reopened his recruitment. He received an in-home visit recently from Brent Pry, Shawn Quinn and Fontel Mines, and he announced on Thursday night that he would be visiting Blacksburg this weekend. It’s unclear right now if anyone else is recruiting Greene, but he had offers from Tennessee, Pitt, Arkansas, Wake Forest, West Virginia and others over the summer. Right now, Virginia Tech seems to have the edge, simply because he hasn’t scheduled any visits elsewhere.

Wide receiver Aziah Johnson of Richmond is set to visit Virginia Tech this weekend.  He’s already visited Michigan State, and he’s also scheduled a visit to South Carolina. Michigan State insiders believe he is going to be a Spartan, but with two visits upcoming, that’s certainly not set in stone.
