Not only scholarship offers, but visits have kicked the recruitment of Oscar Smith (Va.) three-star athlete Tory Johnson into gear. That’s been the case since the first of the year and looks to continue with more visits planned.

Johnson, Rivals.com’s No. 19 player in Virginia for the 2023 class, is up to eight offers, most recently from Duke, Liberty and Norfolk State. He also made a pair of visits last month and has more planned. While Johnson has spent more time with his recruitment, he said he’s not thinking about a decision right now.

Johnson was at Virginia Tech Jan. 15 for its junior day. Though he’d visited previously, including in October for the Hokies’ game against Notre Dame, this trip gave him a chance to make some new connections.
