The trip was brief and there was no contact with anyone from Virginia Tech’s athletics department. But for Edmond Memorial (Okla.) three-star point guard Sean Pedulla, the visit he and his parents made to Blacksburg in August was enough.

On Oct. 19, Pedulla committed to the Hokies, and last week he signed his national letter of intent as a member of their 2021 recruiting class. There were multiple reasons Pedulla made his decision. Looking forward, he sees Virginia Tech as the school that will benefit him in a multitude of ways.

“It definitely wasn’t a ‘wake up one day and I knew’,” Pedulla said. “But it was a lot of praying, talking to family, especially my parents and coaches. It was actually a different school that wanted a decision, so once the time came, I asked myself, ‘which school could I not say no to? And Virginia Tech, I couldn’t say no.”
