I think you can tell from my prediction (a 27-24 Hokies win) that I had some optimism for this game, and optimism for the season. That optimism is now gone.
College football is a tricky thing. Anything can happen and often does. So I’m not one of the “woe is us, Tech won’t win another game” crowd. The Hokies could very well beat Miami and/or UVA, schedule a 12th game, and even make a bowl.
But what I saw Saturday shook me down to the core.
I went to Bull & Bones in Blacksburg Saturday to watch the game with Chris Coleman, Raleigh Hokie, and a few others. My “I’m out of here” moment came with about ten minutes to go in the second quarter, with Pittsburgh leading 17-0.
