Spring practice is in the rear view mirror and we’ve got a long, slow summer ahead of us.  We won’t see this team play again until they take the field in Tallahassee on Sept. 3, and lots can (and will) happen between now and then.

For the next couple of days, I’ll give you my impressions of the team, position by position.  Today we’re going to start with the defensive side of the ball, which lost of a lot of big name talent off of last year’s team.

Note: All depth charts listed in this article are not official Virginia Tech depth charts.  They are merely my own guesses based on a few things — the open practice session last Tuesday, the Spring Game, information from sources and my own gut feel.  I am not taking into account injury, attrition or any other extenuating circumstance.  For example, Adonis Alexander is the No. 1 cornerback on my list.  If I included extenuating circumstances, he would be further down my list.
