The recruitment of Elijah Bowick started early, so it’s only fitting that it ended early, too.

Bowick, a rising senior at Myers Park High School in Charlotte, N.C., was an early target for Virginia Tech in the Class of 2019. The Hokies’ coaching staff singled out Bowick early in the process and offered him as a sophomore.

“The first couple games, they came by the school and we were talking,” Bowick said. “They weren’t saying much, we just talked about the game a little bit, my personal stuff, how I am, stuff like that. Just been building a connection since then.”
