The athleticism and natural skill of Washington (S.D.) three-star center Will Farniok was on display at a track and field meet last spring. But it was more a spur of the moment thing. Farniok had long thrown shot put, but at this meet, he decided to give the high jump a try.
“Last year, at one meet, I just kinda did it,” Farniok said. “It was a JV meet and I just practiced with them sometimes. I did shot first, then high jump. I kinda just wanted to do it. It kinda looked fun and during practice, I just wanted to see if I could do it.”
It’s that athletic prowess that caught the attention of a handful of schools. Virginia Tech offered late last week to join a group that also consists of Virginia, Iowa, Iowa State, Minnesota and Nebraska.
