Bird DB/ATH Enjoys Recent VT Visit

Former Hanover High (Mechanicsville, VA) standout Jalen Elliott’s career at L.C. Bird (Chesterfield, VA) is off to a thrilling start. Down 15-14, the 6’2”, 175-pound junior heaved a pass 43 yards to the end zone in the final seconds against rival Thomas Dale. Receiver Daijuane Dorsey came down with the pass to give the Skyhawks a 20-15 win.

“It was a great feeling,” said Elliott, who finished the game with 190 yards passing and 47 yards rushing. In addition to the game-winning touchdown pass, he also had a 30-yard touchdown run to start the scoring.

The previous Saturday, Elliott was in Blacksburg to see Virginia Tech take on William & Mary in Lane Stadium. That experience was a positive one as well.

“It was great. A great experience,” said Elliott, the son of two Virginia Tech alums. “They rolled out the red carpet. I walked down the tunnel. I got to go through what [the players] go through. They played ‘Enter Sandman’ and I saw the crowd go crazy. It was cool to know I could be part of that in a couple years, if I do decide to go there. I hung out with Trevon Hill and a lot of other recruits who are committed there. They were like, ‘Why wouldn’t you want to go here?’ There was a little side recruiting.”
