Tech Hosts Major Defensive Linemen at June Camp

Virginia Tech held their June recruiting camp on Sunday this year because Saturday was a big SAT day.  Like most June camps, it wasn’t as big as the July camp has been in the past, or is expected to be this year.  There is still plenty to note, however, after spending most of the day in Rector Field House and on the Tech practice fields.

At this stage of the 2013 recruiting game, the Hokies know who they are targeting down the stretch.  There was very little chance of any new prospects being discovered or getting an offer yesterday.  As far as I know, neither happened.  Because of that, this article is going to focus on other things for the most part, rather than trying to give you a scouting report on a bunch of guys who probably won’t get a Virginia Tech offer.

Hand Visits Tech for the Second Time

After yesterday’s workouts had concluded, I was standing around talking to  small group of people, and Da’Shawn Hand came up to me unprompted, extended his hand, and said “How are you, I’m Da’Shawn Hand .”  Spend five minutes around Hand and you’ll realize that he’s a very nice, outgoing, and down-to-earth guy.  I’ve met a 5-star recruit in the past who will remain unnamed , and he gave me the total opposite impression.
