Reports indicate that Brentwood Academy (TN) defensive tackle Woody Baron has committed to Virginia Tech. He is the 18th verbal of the 2012 recruiting class, and the second defensive tackle in as many days.
TSL spoke with Baron earlier this afternoon, before his commitment, and he indicated that he liked Virginia Tech a lot, particularly the coaches. The 6-3, 250-lbs prospect had 17 sacks for Brentwood Academy last season.
Baron chose the Hokies over his other finalist, Vanderbilt. He also held scholarship offers from Arizona State, Louisville, Syracuse, Duke and Wake Forest.
