Ocean Lakes (Virginia Beach, VA) left tackle Chaz Lowery attended Virginia Tech’s win over Central Michigan last Saturday. The 6-5, 260-pound senior, who attended Tech’s July 10 camp, updated the latest in terms of his status with the Hokies and more on the recruiting front.

“Coach Newsome was down a week ago and he was just talking about how he might have some scholarships he didn’t think he’d have, but that’s about it,” Lowery said. “I didn’t get as much interaction as I would’ve liked at the game on Saturday, but that’s expected on a game day. I still feel Virginia Tech is a great program and I would be interested if they offered.”

Four schools — East Carolina, Marshall, Old Dominion and Richmond – have extended official scholarship offers. Duke and Virginia Tech are programs to continue to keep in touch with Lowery, who is in his third season as a starter on the varsity level. Lowery is in no hurry to commit and continues to be patient in this process.

“I love the four offers I have. I’ve been to schools. I’m not rushing anything,” said Lowery, who has taken an official visit to U of R and plans to make an official visit to East Carolina this weekend.
