Kempsville (Virginia Beach, VA) linebacker/running back Travis Hughes had a top five, in order, of UNC, Clemson, Maryland, Virginia Tech and LSU, but there has been a shake-up at the top. The 6-1, 215-pound senior, fresh off of official visits to Maryland and Tech, updates the latest.

“These official visits are changing my mindset,” Hughes said. “First the Maryland visit got me thinking and then the Virginia Tech visit was a great one. I’m thinking a lot of different things, but I can tell you that there is no clean favorite. I’m hoping somebody rises up and sets themselves apart.”

In August, Hughes indicated that he planned to take official visits to all five favorites. He still may take all five, but he seemed a little less certain about his future plans this time around. Also, LSU appears to be getting bumped out of the picture.

“As for the next visit, I can’t really tell you because I don’t know for sure,” Hughes said. “I’m trying to set something to UVa also. I’m going to try to make it an official. I like how UVa is progressing. I like the program as a whole and the recruiting class they have put together. If they keep on this progression and get more players, they could be tough.
