2012 class prospects can’t receive official scholarship offers until September, but Christchurch (VA) offensive lineman Win Homer has been assured by two schools that written offers will be in the mail. The 6-5 1/2, 230-pound rising junior, son of Christchurch head coach Ed Homer, used the word “shock” to describe his emotions after learning two months ago that Boston College was offering.

“I thought it was really out of the blue,” Homer recalled. “I remember my dad getting a voicemail from Coach Siravo saying he was going to push for an offer. I was really excited just by that. Then Coach Siravo left another voicemail saying I have an offer from them. I was blown away. I didn’t expect any sort of commitment from a school that early.”

Virginia followed suit and Homer was pleased by that offer as well.

“Honestly, I really like Coach London,” Homer said. “I think he’s a great guy. I knew him when he was coaching at U of R. He’s just amazing. He actually knew me pretty well because I had gone to camp at Richmond.
