Zach Zwinak ‘s recruiting card
Linganore (Frederick, MD) running back/linebacker Zach Zwinak has earned offers from top programs throughout the country, including Boston College, California, Maryland, Michigan, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Penn State, Pitt, Stanford and Virginia Tech, among many others. The 6-1, 225-pound rising senior may be thinking seriously about at least narrowing his list of schools before the start of the 2009 season.
“It’s crunch time,” said head coach Rick Conner, who guided Linganore to the Class 4A state championship game last season. “Schools have all of their offers out. When scholarships are gone, they’re gone. We’ll see.”
Zwinak’s father, B.J., played football at Virginia Tech. His mother ran track at North Carolina, but, according to Conner, the standout prospect “grew up wanting to be a Hokie. “It was exciting for Zach to get an offer from Virginia Tech.”
